My wife is severely disabled and needs a wheelchair to get about. To be able to take a holiday we need a wheelchair which is light, compact and can be folded so that it can go in a car's boot or be taken on an aircraft. Our first impressions are that the MobiQuip meets these criteria. It is very light and when folded and placed in the supplied carrying bag, very compact. My wife found it very comfortable. We would not use it on a daily basis to get around town, but we have a more robust chair for that. We plan to go on a cruise next year, and think that the wheelchair will be ideal to take with us, to help get round the ship and go on shore excursions, although we may see if we can borrow one of the ship's sturdier chairs to go ashore. All in all, we are impressed. Review: Great except the small wheels - Bought this for my elderly mum, it’s very lightweight and easy to pack etc. But the wheels are a bit too hard and small to tackle even small kerbs edges and the frame is not strong enough to tilt the chair in the back wheel with an adult sat on it (you do need to cross streets where it’s as flat as possible basically). It took my mum a while to work out the parking brakes but it works well. The person sitting on it has no access to the brakes though, it’s the helper sole responsibility to manage the brakes so can be tricky for sloping streets or hilly neighbourhood.
