Depending on the kind of laptop you have you might need a hub as well. If you have a charger for another device that take will take a USB-C cable you might be able to charge it that way, but I expect you might void the warranty if you try that. **Q: Is it backwards compatible with BT 4.2 devices?** A: I believe that a higher level of Bluetooth is always backward compatible, similar to USB connections. Keep in mind, though, that the Bluetooth connection will be at the level of connection that the device that you are connecting it to is using. It should make little to no difference. **Q: Do they have a volume limiter? (To prevent them from being too loud for long periods of listening.)** A: When I use them and try to set the volume higher than the default when connected, it promt a warning before allow to continue.
