I used to do a lot of backpacking and canoe camping in northern Minnesota, and I took a much smaller and lighter one with a brown plastic handle along (sorry, I can't name brand names or Amazon gets upset). Honestly for camping a 6" blade will probably be just fine and then some. It's not like you're cutting down trees out there. If you're planning on car camping or RVing then this 11" one might be a good option, although maybe too large to comfortably handle. Folded up it's as long as my forearm is from elbow to wrist, and unfolded it's nearly two feet long, or as long as my arm is from shoulder to wrist. Do you really need a saw that size? That's up to you. The quality is pretty solid though. It's much sturdier than the small brown plastic handled ones I used to use. Don't make the same mistake. These are so handy, lightweight, and functional that everyone needs at least one. On camping trips, they eliminate the need for an axe, and speed cutting wood by probably 20X. You can use them for all kinds of bushcraft in addition to just cutting firewood. I also use mine for cutting woody weeds and unwanted shrubs, and it is still the best tool I have for that after having experimeneted with all kinds of garden clearing devices, including electrified ones. This particular saw is a good size, but a little flimsy, and the blade wobbles a bit. It hasn't failed to function yet, but it doesn't give me the "rock solid" feeling of my other folding saws. Some of that no doubt is due to the length of the blade - which is longer than usual but what I prefer as I don't find the length to be a problem, and sometimes it is a big help. Overall these aren't costly, work very well, and solve a bunch of cutting problems in a light weight portable package that should work for just about everyone except those involved in the most intensive wood cutting, in which case, a full size fixed blade would be the better choice.
