The outdoor furniture is 10 years old and still in good condition. I looked and looked for replacement slip covers but was unable to find the right size and shape. This was our last option. It took 5 cans to spray 11 covers. There was a bit of a problem with several of the cans sprayer. Several seemed to get clogged so it took some finessing to get them to spray. It might help to turn them upside down before spraying from them.

I attempted to use tips from other cans, but they clogged just as quickly. I even used lacquer thinner to clean the tips, but after two hours, I could only manage four cans. The job was left unfinished and patchy. The cans are cheaply made, with flimsy caps. This is not the same Rustoleum I've used repeatedly before; the cans and paint are noticeably different. When I washed the caps, I found fine, black grit mixed within the paint, which clogged all the tips. Unfortunately, the product is non-returnable, so I will now be using Duplicolor.

**Q: curious why this is not recommended for sun umbrellas?**
A: I don' t know why it's not recommended for sun umbrellas, but it is doing a good job on mine. I can see my umbrella from where I sit, and it looks great.

**Q: Will the color run if the cushion gets wet in the rain?  Product info says repels water... true?  Seeing comment red color bleeds.**
A: Mine is under a roof so I don’t know but it does not color well. Took a whole can to cover 1 side of a cushion. I hate the texture it made the cushion and I hate sitting on it. I did not paint any more cushions. Would not buy again.

**Q: Can this be used on any type of fabric besides cotton?**
A: I used it on polyester successfully.

This paint works great on my nylon chairs for outside. They were dull and faded, and this fabric paint works great. you have to make sure you use it swiftly because the little spray on the end it gets clogged and you have to put it in paint thinner to dissolve the dried paint
