A: There are 9 candles - 3 -I, 1 -L, 1 -V, and 4 - X's.  So you should have XXII.  Hope this helps!

**Q: In the description, it says the material is silicone. How well does it burn? Does it drip much, as it sounds rather toxic.**
A: It’s been some time since I used them, but I can say they burned fine. I think dripping was just like any other candles; I.e., if you leave them flaming for too long, you’ll have dripping on the cake.

A: The candles are an inch high.

I admit that I like to read about Roman history, so these candles had a direct appeal for me in that regard. But! When I turned 40, I put the XL on my cake and people really did a double-take - there were many humorous comments about them, all positive because it's a "big" birthday! People really enjoyed how different and fun they are. Most important, the candles are a good size; they don't take up too much space on the cake and yet they retain their notice-ability. They were easy to light and stayed lit for people to see them and for me to make a wish. I got a second set because I plan to use them again for myself and friends. They honestly still make me chuckle - I think they're really cool.
