I would not say it is moisturizing because it is a butter and if I'm not mistaken, there is no water in it to hint it could be a moisturizing product. I have 4c hair and I use this product in my lcob (leavein conditioner, cream, oil, and butter) method for my hair to lock in the other moisturizing products I use. As a sealant, this product does a great job and smells great. I do have to return the recent jar I got because the texture is off and it doesn't smell like the one I currently have.
