**Q: Where is "4 inches" measured -- from bottom of bracket or from hinge of the leg?  My door is 2 inches above the floor.**
A: The screw that holds the leg on to the bracket is 5 inches center of screw to bottom of leg if that helps you

**Q: Think 2 of these will hold a door 1/2 way open in some wind?  One on each side of the door to lock it in place?  Gets a bit windy here!!!**
A: These only work for about 2 weeks each. 
I would not buy them.

**Q: How many inches does it stick out once attached to the door in it's upright position?**
A: about an inch and a half in the closed upright position

**Q: Will this adjust to 7-8?**
A: These don't really adjust... They are one length and you screw them into the bottom of the door.
