Review: I have purchased several Mil-Tec Sturm Nickel Plated Boatswain whistles over the last year on desertcart. For the money, these are a great buy when compared to other legitimate boatswain or bosun whistles/pipes--which can run from $30-60. The Mil-TECs are nice and loud, and do not need to be "tuned." A word of caution, however. There are a number of cheap knockoffs being passed off as Mil-Tec on the internet, including on desertcart. One earmark to watch for is the shape of the bowl. The Mil-Tec bowl is smooth and round. Some fakes are embossed and have flattened sides. I have included a photo of one that was sent to me a few days ago from a from a company on desertcart who were recommended as "desertcart's Choice." This vendor was advertising Mil-Tec pipes with the correct photo on their site, but the photo I have posted is what they sent.
