The Nashbar pump came with a head with two separate openings for presta and schrader valves facing the same direction. The Topeak pump had a smart head with a single opening that was supposed to fit on both types of valves. With time, both heads started to lose their seal, especially on tubes that are not fully threaded. I also tended to lose a fair amount of air when removing the head. I thought it made more sense to have separate heads for each valve type, so I bought the Sunlite Twinhead pump kit. Installation was straightforward. For the Nashbar pump, I removed the old hose by loosening the collar at the base of the pump. I then removed the fitting that was at the end of the hose and slid off the collar. Next, I slid the collar onto the new hose and inserted the fitting into the end of the hose. The fitting has a bulge in it is held down by the collar and keeps the hose from flying off under pressure. The last step was to hand tighten the collar onto the pump base. The Topeak pump hose was attached to the pump at the pressure gauge. To remove it, I loosened the collar and pulled it off. There is no fitting in the hose because the bulge is part of the pressure gauge. I put the old collar on the new hose and then pushed the hose onto the pressure gauge. The last step was then to hand tighten the collar onto the pressure gauge. The new hose and head kits works great. The gray side is for presta valves and the black side is for schrader valves. To clamp the lever onto your tube move the lever away from the side you are using. When you have reached your desired air pressure, move the lever to the center position. I was impressed by how smoothly this head works. My old heads lost a lot of air in the process of removing the head from the valve. With this pump head, you just have a tiny puff of air that escapes. I wish I would have found this product years ago. Thanks.** A: Yes. I used it on a Specialized Air Tool "Sport" pump. I did not use the hose, I just unscrewed the old head and screwed on the new one. It worked great.
