Or does it activate something in the hair itself to turn the gray hair darker?** A: It is not a dye. It seems to bring out the natural color of the hair and does so gradually. I have no idea how it works. I use it after washing my hair (every morning) as a conditioner. I do not rinse it out. It does not remove all the gray completely, but makes it more of a salt & pepper color.
