When comparing the 15QMAX to my buddies' Cornwell 2138 3/8 stubby (as well as the 1/2" Aircat 1055), the IR was not as loud and took a little longer to remove lug nuts from a 3/4 ton axle but I won't be using it for that. When compared to the IR Tit. 2115, the QMAX is not as loud, 1" shorter and slightly thicker but had a cheaper price. I chose the QMAX because it was light, quiet, and hopefully the quality will match my 2131. I need a 3/8 air impact for a project. Naturally I looked up I.R. When I got the wrench I put a fitting on it and set the air off the compressor to 90lbs, which is whats printed on the tool. The tool stalled when I grabbed the socket and pulled the trigger. I put a couple drops of air tool oil in. Better but still not good. I had to bring the air up to 120lbs for it to work properly. Even then it had issuses wrenching a 3/8 nut. I pulled out my 20V DeWalt impact and finished the job. Lots of torque and impact power. I dont have time for stuff like this. I got the Ingersol because Ive used thier stuff for years with no issues. Now this. Its simple: I want my tools American made, reliable out of the box like theyre supposed to be. Thats their legacy. Either do it right or not at all. This thing is for someone who likes to have a pretty air wrench in his toolbox to impress his neighbor.
