A solid aluminum block is simply too large and does not provide a side to anchor the rivet. **Q: Cam i use itfor regular ribets** A: Will not work for regular rivets. **Q: I want to install in square aluminum tubing. the rivet nut i want to use is 1/4-20 stainless steel. will this work in that application?** A: Of course it will. Makes life EASY! *by M***T on September 28, 2025* This rivnut tool works great. Easy to use, easy to set nuts that hold beautifully. I first used it to mount a wheel bracket to the back of my fiberglass kayak so I could roll rather than carry the kayak from the truck to the lake. With the rivnuts, the bracket is solid and I've kayaked every week for 2 months without an issue. Next I used it for assembling steel arbor panels.
