I used the flat end of a can opener and pried for about 5 minutes or so. The dried bleach is not sealed with plastic so you do have to be careful opening the cover so it doesn't fly everywhere. **Q: Original wood floor. Do I sand or use oxalic acid first? Ratio of oxalic acid to water, and how long to leave on before rinsing?** A: Sanding removed a lot of the dark spots. What was left came up with a couple applications of the oxalic acid. I followed the mixing directions on the container. In order to avoid over-bleaching the natural wood, I found that several short applications on stubborn spots were better than one long soak. **Q: What percentage of oxide acid dies thia product have** A: According to the Manufacturer's MSDS it is 95-100%: OXALIC ACID DIHYDRATE: % by Wt.= 95% - 100%MSDS link: http://www.savogran.com/pdfs/Wood_Bleach_MS.pdf **Q: Will this get black water stains out of butcher block countertop?** A: Yes, I used this to remove black water stains which had accumulated on the planks under wall to wall carpet that had been removed. Be careful to not leave the product on too long or it will whiten the spot lighter than the surrounding wood. Better to apply it for a short period of time, clean off, let dry to see if it blends in with the surrounding wood rather than leave it on too long and have over-whitened splotches. I used it to bleach out some black marks on a midcentury danish dresser top and it worked perfectly. I applied it lightly, waited 10-15 minutes to wipe off excess and spray water on it to remove the bleach. Wiped down with dry rag and repeated the process. Probably could have done it a 3rd time, but I was happy with my result.
