## Description

Product Features 36V 1200W Element : These elements are made from stainless steel to prevent any corrosion so are suitable for use in virtually all types of water tank Product Application → Great for use heating water in domestic hot water cylinders or water tanks in caravans, boats, workshops etc. Can also be used with waste vegetable oil in the the manufacture of biodiesel, and for home brewing etc → Can also be used with waste vegetable oil in the the manufacture of biodiesel, and for home brewing etc → These can also be used to prevent water freezing during winter months in livestock drinkers or raised ponds by connecting one to a large 36v battery recharged by a large solar panel or wind turbine, just use a basic 5 degrees c normally open thermostat and when the water temperature gets near five degrees the heater will automatically come on and warm the water by a few degrees before switching off again, one could also be used in the water storage tank in your loft if its prone to freezing in the winter months NOTES If you have a gas hot water heater you may wish to put an electric unit ahead of it. This way the gas heater is always being fed hot water so it does not turn on as often and for shorter periods of time when it does. If used as a diversion (dump) load, such an element is connected to the batteries via a charge regulator. When the regulator detects that the batteries are fully charged, it diverts the generated electricity to the element which heats water. Review: Boiled a lake - Fairly solid. I would say that it's a little underpowered for application (bought 50x through company to boil an acre large lake), but after a month and $10000 spent on electricity it worked like a charm! Lifespan: Does not run out given that you keep it in distilled water. Ease of installation: Very easy, even a child could do it. Fit: Large, easy to fit.
Review: Go green, use the power of light - I split these and made two out of one. With each one being 600 watts. Using a 80 gallon water heater. Also added a 3/4 element. Plenty of hot water.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: No instructions... Is there a positive and negative? Does it not matter? I'll be wiring this directly to a solar panel.**
A: It doesn't matter.

**Q: Can I use this for a 24v 1200watt dump load?**
A: Yes you can use 24v but it will only use 460 watts. Power equal volts^2 / resistance. These are 2.5 ohm elements, 1.25 ohm when in parallel.

**Q: Too many products these days have no instructions or product info... Does this product come with either?? Thanks**
A: As far as instructions I'm not sure what you are looking for. It's a 36vdc heating element, you connect the 2 power wires and it does the rest. The box has the wattage, voltage, and dimensions on it. If you are looking for amperage its 1200W / 36vdc = 33.3 amps. This isn't perfect but it is very close. For the pipe connection you apply a form of thread sealant and screw it in, then check for leaks. Hope this helps

**Q: When you connect direct to solar panels. Is higher volage from panels a problem. The panels I am looking are 40 volt.**
A: You should be fine using 40v panels. Wire in parallel and watch your amps more than the volts. 36v 1200w element has a 33amp limit, so add up the amps produced on your panels and don't exceed that......and don't forget to protect the whole thing with a 40amp fuse or breaker in there.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Go green, use the power of light

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Element lugs WAY too small and WAY to close together
*by T***Y on 30 July 2021*

This is a 36v, 1200watt element. That means the max amps on the wire could be 33amps. To run 33amps DC any distance at all, you're gonna need #8 wire minimum, and maybe heavier. The PROBLEM is the lugs on the element are TINY....haven't measured, but they look like 3/16" studs (or smaller), and WORSE, they are very close to each other. Try to find a lug to go on the end of a #8 wire with a small enough ring or spade connector that it doesn't bridge the small gap between the positive and negative studs on the element......REALLY had to do ! Most are made for 1/4" and go up from there. I finally found some ground lugs at an electrical supply store that take a #8-14 size wire, and mounted them on the element studs to for a place to connect the wire. Whoever designed this sure didn't take into consideration HOW THE HECK TO ACTUALLY CONNECT WIRES TO IT !! Edit: After 3 weeks, the RELAY I had wired between the panels and the element failed. I used a relay (rated at far more amps than my panels put out) controlled by the tank thermostat to control water temperature. I thought initially the element had failed, but it is fine. Waiting on a Bosch relay instead of the cheap one I had from you-know-where. Right now, I'm running six 175w 5a panels into this element in a 28gal tank. My panels are West facing and only get about 1/2 day of sun, but the tank temperatures are running in the 175 degree range with little water used. I'm well pleased with this element.
