With this Mini Converter Sport from Kaweco, you can suck up ink like in a syringe. Then the converter is inserted into the fountain pen. Drawing up several times increases the filling quantity.

Review: Solid little converter - I normally don't write reviews, but I'm going to this time for two reasons. The first is because there are a couple of different options for cartridge converters for Kaweco Sport pens, and I want to help people decide if they're trying to decide. The second reason is, the USPS lost the package containing the first converter I ordered, and the seller was very good about replacing it at no charge to me, and I really appreciate that they did that, so I want people to know that the seller is good. As for the converter itself, it's a very tiny little piston converter. You don't turn a screw or anything, you just pull up on a tiny, knurled knob to draw ink up into the pen. That being said, in order to have room for the piston mechanism in such a small pen, you sacrifice about half of the capacity that you'd have with a cartridge. Your other option is a squeeze-type converter. The squeeze converter probably has about twice the total capacity in theory, but it's harder to get it to fill all the way, and it can be a little bit messy and frustrating getting the hang of it. The piston, on the other hand, is much easier. Since I generally only use my pen for writing short notes and so forth, the piston made a lot more sense to me. If you intend to write for longer, and are prepared for a slightly more difficult experience, the squeeze converter might be better for you.

**Q: Does each new cartridge require a new converter once you’ve bought the Kaweco classic fountain pen?**
A: The pens do not come with converters.  If you want a converter for each pen, then add a converter to your purchase.  If you like cartridges, you can refill an empty cartridge with bottled ink using a syringe.

**Q: Does the Kaweco classic sport fountain pen come with a converter, and is it reusable? It doesn’t seem logical that new cartridges would need another.**
A: Kaaweco classic sport pens do not come with a converter; you have to buy it separately.  Yes, it is reusable--you just refill it from a bottle.  Generally though i use the cartridges because a bottle of ink requires Kleenex, and sometimes spills.

**Q: Would this converter fit in the Perkeo?**
A: Yes, it will fit fine. It even works well in the Kaweco Sport fountain pens, which are even smaller.

**Q: Will the mini converter work in the Brass Sport.**
A: It should. As far as I know, the converter works with any Sport. I don't believe Kaweco changed anything for the brass model.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great in a 1980's Shaefer Student pen

I recently came in to possession of a 1980's Shaefer Student fountain pen. Internet research told me that new cartridges for Shaefer Student pens just can't be had. I don't like cartridges anyway, so I looked for a converter. It seems you can't get a Shaefer converter to fit the pen, either. But more research led me to buy this converter for the pen. This converter works fine. It is a very tight fit onto the feed. Scary tight, but it fit. There's plenty of room in the barrel. The capacity (the converter's length) could be a little greater, but then it wasn't made to be used the way I'm using it. One more point, a general one: This converter uses a simple plunger; it's basically just a syringe. It works great.
