It isn't element proof. Aka the sun would likely destroy the plastic after a while. Including the cables etc... This is designed for charging boat batteries. Or well that's what I bought it for. Where the wires would be coming out the top?** A: Yes. According to documentation the unit can be mounted in any position. **Q: With a 4 battery parallel array can the 8 charging cables remain connected while the batteries are supplying the load?** A: The privies is to always leave the charger on the batteries. Works great. We use ours for lithium batteries. Ours are in a series, I don’t think parallel would be any different.
