Use Black E-CRO only on aluminum, magnesium, titanium and tantalum. Most commonly, Black E-CRO is used on aluminum. It is not intended for use on any other metals or materials. Black E-CRO can change its shade of grey to black depending on how long it is in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath. It can be a light grey if you do a shorter anodizing cycle. For a longer duration in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath, it will look like dark black. The anodizing process parameters have a significant impact on the properties of the oxide formed. This means that the color is dependent on the anodizing process. Black E-CRO is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. It is made with fume suppressants. Specifications on Black E-CRO Concentration - This 80 mL bottle contains 60 grams of powder to makes 7.6 L or 2 gallons. pH - 5.0 – 6.0 (Raise with ammonium hydroxide, lower with acetric acid.) For example the red dye used 16 grams of material to make 2 gallons, where is this black dye uses 60 grams to make the same amount. **Q: How is it applied? Like you would apply a paint or stain or??? Don't buy until you know how to Anodize! **Q: will this work on titanium?** A: No. Titanium anodizing is through electrical current and time. There are no dyes for titanium anodizing.
