It is sealed from that point. Thanks, Rich **Q: Why do you need to add acid if it is permetly sealed my old battery is sealed when bought** A: There are two types of AGM (absorbed gas mat) batteries. Those that are "factory activated" and those that are "bottle supplied" (BS) for the user to activate. The factory activated batteries are filled with acid and sealed at the factory. The user activated batteries are shipped dry along with a supplied bottle of acid. The user fills the battery cells with acid and then presses in a sealing plug strip that seals the cells. Either way, you never add water.The factory sealed are probably better but the user activated versions are more popular. Yuasa is a premium battery and should be fine. One note, if you intend to lay the battery on its side, check with Yuasa to verify that the battery can be positioned in that way. It's very important to wait until the battery has cooled and properly absorbed the acid into the plates (1-3 hours min.) before the sealing strip is gently installed using only your thumbs.
