## Description

Brilliant finish synthetic clay cuts faster than clay bars thanks to the texture and synthetic make-up of the clay/polymer matrix. A traditional clay bar has only one leading edge to remove contaminants on initial contact. It's blunt. The diamond pattern found in smooth finish synthetic clay's clay/polymer matrix creates more edges and more opportunities to remove stubborn contaminants. The comfortable foam palm pad creates less hand fatigue and is much more maneuverable than clay bars, a win-win for detail-minded enthusiasts everywhere.

Review: Excellent - Had to deal with an entire car covered bumper to bumper in 2 pack white paint over spray. Managed to completely remove every last speck of over spray in record time and the pad still looks brand new. The entire process was a thousand times faster and easier vs a clay bar for two reasons: 1. No folding, no cleaning, no fear of dropping the claybar and ruining it. Every few minutes i'd simply dunk the pad into a bucket of water to clean off any build up. 2. The pad itself is very ergonomic and comfortable to hold. Usually after claybarring for several minutes my fingers start to cramp up and I have to swap hands, but Griot's synthetic clay pad was extremely comfortable and easy to grip. My only complaint was trying to wedge the pad into tighter areas -- the pad itself is quite large and thick which makes it difficult to get into hard to reach locations such as the front grille, or between glass and body panels, but in those situations weren't a deal breaker. This is definitely a product I will keep in my repertoire for future use.

**Q: How well does this item work compared to a standard clay bar?**
A: It works fairly well. If you’re like me I clay once a year so I never really have a build up. If you only clay once every few year I would use the standard bar.

**Q: Can the clay surface be cleaned after use?**
A: Just use soapy water for the lubricant and the cleaner.

**Q: Can I use this with Mequiars gold car wash with this?**
A: My answer would be yes, using the car wash as a lubricant and not letting anything dry on the car, always keep the car wet and sudsy

**Q: Is this for clay or the cleaning pad? The pictures look like it is for the cleaning pad**
A: It's a cleaning pad with a synthetic clay black pad that is supposed to help attract and trap tiny particles. It's designed to be used after washing your car prior to applying wax or "ceramic" coatings.

Bucket of soapy water and a little time and your paint will be buttery smooth. Well worth the money and easier than actual clay bars. Don't worry about dropping this one either. A good rinse and you are back in the game.
