Inspire learning anywhere, the lightweight and adaptable floor desk is perfect for taking the classroom indoors and out. This unique alternative seating allows parents, teachers, and educators to quickly and easily rearrange workspaces to create a dynamic collaborative environment between students or use for individual work study. This laptop desk comes fully assembled and is maintenance-free. Innovative one-piece design ensures you have a seat and a surface for your laptop or notebook wherever you need it. The Surf lets you work comfortably on the lawn at the park, in your classroom chair or on the floor with a friend. Dynamic learning environments should be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. The Surf is a great alternative option for traditional desk and chairs, which allow students to easily move and set up a personal learning station. Giving students choices about their physical classroom space and teaches them higher-order thinking skills, like emotional and problem-solving skills. Flexible seating encourages students to understand their relationship between body, objects and other people. This allows them to better understand their connection to the world. Or is it smooth enough to write on just a piece of paper?** A: I have students use a folder under a single sheet of paper especially writing paper. The texture is okay to write on, but not 100% smooth. I bought two and in a class of 20+ students, they are always being used. Very comfortable for the kids! They're a little more difficult to store/put away as they take space, but it's totally worth the comfort and independence they provide my students. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what we were looking for πŸ‘Œ *by on Reviewed in Australia 25 June 2020* PERFECT... Thank youExactly as described, LOVE IT ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect floor seating for classrooms *by on Reviewed in the United States 10 April 2022* These seats are a hit in my 8th grade classroom and the 6th grade classroom down the hall. They stack nicely so you can buy several and not require much more space than purchasing one. The desk portions are sturdy and withstand the weight of a laptop, or heavy backpack with surprising ease. Additionally, the simplicity of design means they're 1 piece of plastic, so they also withstand being moved by careless kids better than most alternative seating options. Students love them and prefer them to other floor/low seating choices in my classroom. ## Frequently Bought Together - ECR4Kids The Surf Portable Lap Desk, Flexible Seating, Black - Factory Direct Partners SoftScape 15 inch Round Classroom Floor Cushions with Handles; Flexible Seating for Daycare, Preschool, Playroom; 2 inch Thick Deluxe Foam (6-Piece) - Contemporary, 11232-CT - Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches, for Use with Thermal Laminators, 8.9 x 11.4 Inches, Letter Size Sheets, 100 Count --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/274028270-ecr4kids-elr-15810-bk-the-surf-portable-lap-desk-flexible](https://www.desertcart.us/products/274028270-ecr4kids-elr-15810-bk-the-surf-portable-lap-desk-flexible) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
