Review: A versatile bang for your buck - The axe is about exactly the size you’d think it’d be. It feels sturdy, it’s sharp, and has a nice hard, light greenish tan plastic grip. Has nice weight distribution between the head of the axe and handle. I really like the sheath a lot as well. Sturdy, stitched well together. For the price, it’s a no-brainer for your bugout bag. The only thing I can’t comment on yet is it’s strength and how long it will stay sharp before it’s time to sharpen it. But from what I see, it’s a good one! I’m not familiar with this company but it seems like they take pride in their work when designing these things. Also the axe came two days earlier than what desertcart told me. That’s pretty rare, and they deserve the credit.

The quality was much better than expected, I was able to attach the sheath via Mille gearto my pack and it even came with a small bungee that holds the handle from flopping around while hiking. The hatchet is a slim contour which is really nice. Now on to the blade, this thing is extremely sharp and durable. Along with that, the shape, weight and balance of the blade make it comfortable for use whether you’re chopping with your hand at the end of the handle, or doing more controlled cutting and choking up in the handle. Last but not least, I was sent a PDF file that contained a pretty thorough survival guide with lots of tips and tricks. It even included pictures to show exactly how to carve notches out of limbs to create traps, fishing tension lines and shelters. Very well put together and well worth the money!

**Q: What kind of edge does the ax have? Chisel, full flat, or convex?**
A: Both edges are convex and due to the thickness of the ax, I think the bevel is appropriate. The weight is sufficient for a survival tool.

I’m not familiar with this company but it seems like they take pride in their work when designing these things. Also the axe came two days earlier than what Amazon told me. That’s pretty rare, and they deserve the credit.

I received this survival hatchet and was thoroughly impressed! The quality was much better than expected, I was able to attach the sheath via Mille gearto my pack and it even came with a small bungee that holds the handle from flopping around while hiking. I bought this hatchet as a gift, so I may never personally get to use it. It appears well-made, and feels sharp to the touch. I won't be able to attest to its toughness until I get a report back from the giftee, who just happens to be my son-in-law. He owns a tree-care company and lives he outdoors, so I'm hoping this will get some good use!
