Will she accept Tidy Cats LightWeight?** A: Transitioning gradually is the key. Start with 2/3 old litter and 1/3 new, increasing the new litter over time so kitty can get used to it. By the time her box is 100% new litter, she’ll probably think the whole thing was her idea. **Q: Does this litter help with urine and fecal odor, not just ammonia odor?** A: Several Tidy Cats LightWeight options tackle urine and fecal odor. Free & Clear Unscented uses activated charcoal. 4-in-1 Strength has TidyLock. Glade Clear Springs and Glade Clean Blossoms are scented solutions to ammonia, urine and fecal odors. **Q: Does Tidy Cats LightWeight litter work well with my current litter box?** A: Absolutely. If you own an automatic self-raking litter box, cleaning/changing it will be easier than ever because the litter is lightweight. **Q: Will Tidy Cats LightWeight work if I have multiple cats?** A: Tidy Cats offers an assortment of LightWeight formulas designed specifically to tackle the biggest issues multi-cat households face—ammonia, urine and fecal odors. Check out scented and unscented options. For best results, follow tips on the package. **Q: Is Tidy Cats LightWeight litter flushable?** A: Excellent question. Pet litter is not flushable. Used litter should be included with your regular household garbage pickup or buried at least 12" underground so as not to attract wild animals. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value litter *by on Reviewed in Canada 6 June 2025* Used for so many years with no issue. I have since changed brands, but for reasons that don't concern the brand Tidy Cats directly (I try to go for corn-based now). Their litter is great. It does have a basic litter smell, but does a good job at trapping cat odors. It's not especially dusty on my medium-hair black cat either (nothing is perfect with a black cat though lol), and seems to like it just fine too, never had issues with the texture or anything. The lightweight aspect always made it easy for me to carry a box home, if I couldn't get it delivered through amazon.I actually still do use it a bit. I use 50/50 of this, with the other part being corn-based litter. I find the corn litter struggles a bit more with cat odors, but has a gentler basic smell. Combining the two litters gives out a great balance for odor control! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My lower back and my 3 cats are finally in agreement. *by on Reviewed in the United States 23 May 2026* If you live with three cats, your day-to-day life is basically governed by the state of the litter box. I switched to this lightweight version, and my spine has never been happier. Lugging this around actually feels like carrying a normal box of groceries instead of a literal block of concrete.Performance-wise, it holds its own against the multi-cat chaos:- The Clumping: Solid and reliable. It scoops easily and doesn't shatter into a million tiny pieces.- Robo-Box Approved: We use this in a robotic litter box, and it handles the automated cycling decently well. It doesn't gum up the mechanism or stick terribly to the liner, which is a massive win for automatic boxes.- Odor Control: With three cats, you find out very quickly if a litter is slacking. This one keeps the peace and handles the high traffic without a problem. If you’re tired of the heavy-lifting workout just to keep your house smelling normal, this is absolutely worth the switch. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight: A Game-Changer for Easy Cleanup! *by on Reviewed in the United States 25 April 2024* As a cat owner (or boyfriend of one), I'm always on the lookout for products that make litter box maintenance a breeze, and Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight has exceeded all my expectations!Let's talk about the main highlight - the lightweight formula. Gone are the days of lugging heavy bags of cat litter from the store to my car and then into the house. This lightweight version of Tidy Cats is a game-changer. Despite its feather-light feel, it still delivers on performance, effectively clumping and controlling odors just like its heavier counterparts. But what truly sets this litter apart is its ease of cleanup. The lightweight formula makes scooping a breeze - no more struggling with heavy clumps that stick to the scoop! The clumps form quickly and hold together well, making it easy to remove waste without leaving behind any residue. Plus, the low dust formula means less mess and hassle during cleanup.I also appreciate the odor control properties of Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight. Even in multi-cat households, this litter does an excellent job of neutralizing odors, keeping my home smelling fresh and clean.Another bonus is the long-lasting nature of this litter. A little goes a long way, so each bag lasts much longer than expected, saving both time and money in the long run.Overall, I couldn't be happier with Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight. It combines the convenience of lightweight packaging with the performance and reliability of traditional Tidy Cats litter. If you're tired of heavy, cumbersome litter and want a product that makes cleanup a breeze, look no further than Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight. Your back (and your nose) will thank you! ## Frequently Bought Together - Purina Tidy Cats Light Weight, Low Dust, Clumping Cat Litter, LightWeight Instant Action - 17 lb.
