It does seem to take a long time to charge the battery but it does last a long time so they equal each other out. The other thing is that it being so good vaccuming it could have done with a bigger waste bin. That said it is so easy to empty it and more importantly to reinsert it, unlike my last one where you had to fight it ino the ground to get the thing on. I decided to read as many reviews on it as I could. Nearly all of them were very favourable with ample justification. I couldn't find out from the product description what the voltage was. When I did discover that it was 18 volts I admit that I was a bit disappointed as I thought that it would not be powerful enough. But my confidence was very quickly fully restored when I started using it. It is, in fact, very powerful in spite of it's relatively low voltage. The suction power is terrific and the battery life is excellent. It is so effective that I have rarely needed to use the booster mode. If that is used then the battery does naturally run out of power rapidly. But normal power is usually ample and really good. It is light and easy to use. The dust box is very easy to empty and clean.
