It also offers the option of connecting directly to the tripod socket on a camera body. I use one for panoramas and another with a copy stand to make quick adjustments (with a ball head). The quality is good. The clamp is a little stiff, but secure. Surprisingly, this 200 mm version is less expensive than the shorter versions. I was worried that the 200mm length might cause some issue with vignetting, but it hasn't been a problem so far.
