I can be messy to use, so we just use a small spoonand get a very small amt on it and put that in mouse and shut...... until inserting brush and doing what we normally do. Does not feel gritty and it takes a lot of brushing and rinsing to get all the black out of mouth. I'm thinking that all this brushing to get all the black stuff out has tomake the teeth cleaner and whiter...... Not quite as bad as brushing teeth with copier toner, but somewhat similar. Like I said takes a while toget all the "black" stuff out and lots and lots of rinsing. So far, not unhappy with it.
