**Q: I live in nys, is this  bait work in streams and what kind/  Color ??**
A: Yes it's a trout..bait. Chartreuse...is the hottest color... especially in murky water

**Q: could this work for carps?**
A: We have a couple of grass carp in our trout pond and they never go after it so I would assume there is better bait for them.

I generally do better with the rainbow or even green powerbait but its all good bait for trout. If you can get it on sale they that's the biggest thing to pay attention to when making your choice. I got this one sale and it was cheaper from Amazon then my local options.
