A: NO!!! DO NOT OPEN the brown packet itself. If your Boveda arrived individually wrapped in cellophane, remove that plastic overwrap before slipping the humidity control pack into a fabric holder.

**Q: Should I use a sponge or snake with Boveda?**
A: No, do not use Boveda in the same instrument case with other humidification products, as this will reduce the Boveda’s efficiency. Ditch the sponges and hoses. No more rewetting— Boveda works automatically to balance the humidity in your case!

Don't tear the package open!!! The pack stays inside the pastic bag. No fuss, no fumbling, these are good for reed instruments like a clarinet, sax, etc. I have added one to an accordion in the case where it too has reeds.
