Review: Works - My daughter started scratching her head on Sunday. On Monday morning, we found the lice. I had no idea what to do, this was our first ever encounter with lice. Our pediatrician called in a prescription for a lice treatment, but it wasn't in stock. While I was at the pharmacy, I found this (Nix Ultra). Bought 3 bottles (crazy expensive at there compared to desertcart). I didn't even check my other two daughters, but wasn't taking any chances. Treated our entire family that morning. The solution is easy to use. I saturated everyone's heads, rubbed it in really well so that every, single hair and entire scalp was completely covered. Everyone sat with the stuff on their heads for way longer than the directed 10 minutes while I did everyone. Rinsed it off and dead stuff was falling out of Patient Zero's hair while we rinsed. Washed everyone's hair with dish soap (great tip from other reviewers). Used the included combs to section off and comb out everyone's hair. Didn't really see anything else in anyone's hair at that point. Pulled everyone's bedding, clothing, pajamas, coats, and all towels, etc and started a massive, never-ending laundry party. That took ALL DAY and the laundry wasn't even close to being done. Grabbed clean sleeping bags and extra pillows and had everyone find a spot on the floor to sleep- FAR AWAY FROM ONE ANOTHER- in a not-often used area of the house- I wasn't taking any chances of any live lice crawling from their beds back into their hair. Next day, did quick morning head checks (didn't see anything) and continued laundry. Researched (and could've earned a doctorate by the time I was done) lice removal. Ordered terminator lice combs and a large lighted magnifying glass (the magnifying glass is an important tool that not many people mentioned). That night, I went through everyone's hair, practically strand by strand. One daughter had one live louse and several eggs in one spot. I retreated her head with the Nix ultra immediately. Nothing else crawling in anyone else's heads, but some nits and dead things. Everyone had greasy hair, but that took care of the lice. Washed everyone's bedding again. Moved to another location for sleeping again that night. (Not risking any live lice transferring back to heads). The third day, I combed through everyone's hair again, practically strand by strand, and used the magnifying glass (seriously, get a large, lighted magnifying glass). It took HOURS to do everyone's hair, but totally worth the time. Found a few really small nit eggs that would never have been found if not for the magnifying glass. Hopefully, they were all dead. Nothing crawling. Fourth day, everyone appears to be lice free. I can't imagine that I missed anything, but will continue to check every night and do the retreatment in a few days, just in case. I hope that was our first and only-ever encounter with lice. The stuff works, but definitely comb out thoroughly every night, in case anything was missed.
Review: Works well - Woeks as designed. Had no issues with the trearment

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I have to remove the nits? I can’t get them out even with the comb**
A: Yes, you do. To remove the nits, I bought and used a professional lice comb set because the provided comb didn't have micro grooving on its teeth for effective nits removal. Anyway, Nix is a great treatment option.

**Q: Ive tried, spent hourssss combing, but cannot get all these nits out..first treatment worked to kill off bugs, but will the missed nits hatch?**
A: You have to make sure all the nits are gone it’s a pain but do another treatment in a week and a week after that. Check every night for nits you missed. Good luck.

**Q: How does Nix Ultra kill eggs (nits) exactly? I’ve read multiple sources that say nits can’t be killed by suffocation because they do not breath.**
A: Any eggs/nits that are 3/4 days old won’t die because they dnt have a neurological system yet, so it’s better to treat hair again in 7-10 days for any eggs that might have hatched since the first treatment. Hope that makes sense.

**Q: If nits are still present post nix ultra treatment, can they reinfestate?**
A: The treatment is suppose to kill the eggs too. And the comb that comes with it is suppose to remove the dead nits and dead bugs. So, hopefully there should not be a re-infestation. I would do another treatment after a couple days if you are worried about a re-infestation.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This stuff was the only thing that killed everything!
*by P***S on September 28, 2018*

My kiddo picked up lice somewhere around July 22. Today is Sept 28. For months, I have tried several products/methods for eliminating these bugs. I’ve done RID, the regular Nix, the ‘airy fairy’ type sprays, essential oils (combined and separately) and I have put in the hard work of vacuuming EVERYTHING (car included), put away all stuffed animals and almost incinerated my hot water heater with the ridiculous amount of laundry I’ve done, trying to just kill all traces of it. Each of the methods I used on her hair all produced some result of dead bugs and nits combed out, but nothing got completely rid of all of it. Every time I rechecked my hair or hers, there were more bugs and nits. Omg, the nits! One day after an hour long comb out, I literally sat in my bathroom floor and cried. So many months of this! The treating, the comb outs, the laundry, the time, the money spent...I seriously didn’t know what else to do. I bought this with a heavy heart at all the time and money already spent and I am so glad I did! This stuff killed everything. When I rechecked and recombed, there was nothing! After months of bugs, I am extremely relieved (to say the least) that she and I both are lice free! I’ve combed out every day for 7 days and not found one nit or bug! This is the stuff. Edit- I will also say it IS oily. If you can possibly wait until a weekend and treat on Friday night (wash out as directed) then just wash hair again Sunday night (the first wash will not get all the oily residue out) and I like to leave the residue (albeit slight) on for another day (skip washing Saturday). But the Sunday regular shampoo wash will finish getting the residue out. I recommend not swimming after treating, again the oily residue.
