I seem to review a lot of Gear Aid Tenacious Tape patches!

*by L***Y on Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on 4 March 2020*

Looking at my Amazon history, apparently I go through a lot of Tenacious Tape. I buy and sell outdoor jackets sometimes so that explains it, but the brand is the only ones I'd use. These ones are big 3 inch patches and a 4 pack is pretty good value for money. I'd use this as single patches and not bother cutting them up, if you want smaller, buy some of the Gear Aid packs with multiple sizes, they are better value for money.Tenacious Tape patches stick really well, once they are on they stay on so be careful you don't wrinkle the material you are putting it on as you put the patch on. Spend a few minutes making sure it's stretched and free of bits of down/insulation coming out of the hole and put the patch on slowly and carefully, pulling the material taught again as you go. It will make a patch that will last as long as the thing you are patching if you do it properly. These ones aren't massively waterproof. The company sells Gore-Tex ones which cost a bit more, but if the hole is big and the item is meant to be waterproof, I'd pay the extra and buy those. If you are patching something that's not hugely exposed to the elements, these are waterproofed and they are good enough for most things. You can always spray the patch if it starts to get leaky.Hopefully this review is useful to some folks!

    Handy not just for adventurers

*by P***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 15 March 2018*

In this pack you get two clear and two black. I have mainly used thes to fix down jackets but have also used it to put in the heel of trainers when the back gets scuffed and rough. They wash well too. I do prefer the black to the clear as they are more fabric.

Great for patching holes in my down coat. True black colour and stayed on after a turn in the washing machine
