It lasts almost the three months with our use as all cold water is filtered instead of just a drinking spout. Works as intended and you definitely know when it’s time to change it because the water loses quality again. Decent design but the case is often difficult to open initially.

**Q: this filter removes bacteria from the water?**
A: No it doesn't you want something with UV light system

**Q: Which NSF certificate was it tested for? The kit says NSF 53/42, is that for the replacement cartridge too?**
A: Yes that's the filter rating

**Q: What type of wrench does it come with? Can't find the box but I believe we saved the tool somewhere.**
A: I don’t believe it did. I just grab it and turn. You could use the wrench meant for removing an oil filter from a car if you need extra help.

**Q: Are they supposed to have a part of them where the filter is wrinkled and you can see the holes? Or is it defective**
A: No it should not be like that
