They use a 4-way flat light connector. Will this kit get the job done?** A: I do not know what vehicle you are trying to adapt. This unit is used on vehicles that have separate lights for turn and brake signals. it combines those signals so that the single lamp turn/brake taillight will operate. My installation is on a Ford Escape. Connection was simple and it worked right off without problems. Just pop the taillights out or fish around the back of the vehicle, connect to 4 wires with quick connectors and screw one to ground and you are in business. If you have a permanent hitch or receiver and this is intended to be a permanent install, I recommend that you smear some silicone sealer over the quick connectors, because, salt on the roads in winter can corrode the connection and cause it to fail. **Q: Will this work for attaching a 1999 Toyota Tacoma to a boat trailer whose trailer lights submerge under water to unload a boat--it won't short out??** A: Yep. Mine don't short out. I have watertight LED lights. Most old trailer guys just unplug it at the ramp. **Q: does this work well with 05 Honda Civic LX?** A: It should. I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX. The 03 and the 05 are both 7th gen models and primarily the same. That means anything civic (non si) from 2001-2005 should work. **Q: Will this work for 1997 jeep grand cherokee?** A: It should, they are pretty much universal. The hard part is getting to your vehicles' wiring. Had to remove back corner inside panel of my Kia to get to tail light wires. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy install *by D***M on September 22, 2024* I installed on my 2014 Tacoma pickup without any hassle. There is plenty of room behind the left rear light assembly to mount the unit and the extra-long wire for the right side turn signal was just right length. The crimp-on connectors work fine to give a good solid connection to existing lamp wires without having to cut any wires. You will need to find an existing screw to attach the ground wire to. I didn't see a convenient one so I drilled a small hole in the sheet metal under the truck and installed the included sheet metal screw to attach the ground wire. They include a couple of small cable ties to keep wires in place but I used several more of my own stock to give a neater professional installed look.
