The CALIFORNIA AIR TOOLS 4610AC Ultra Quiet & Oil-Free Air Compressor is designed to be one of the quietest air compressors in the industry having only 60 decibels of sound. The powerful 1.0 HP (SP-9413) motor operates at only 1680 RPM creating less noise and less wear. The "New" SP Series of Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Motors have been designed to increase duty cycle and allow for longer continuous run times. The Oil-Free Dual Piston Pump System is engineered for high performance and durability. The CAT-4610AC Air Compressor has a Oil-Free Dual Piston pump designed to have a life cycle before wear of 3000 Plus hours compared to other comparable air compressors with life cycles of 500 hours or less. The Oil-Free pump allows for use in a variety of temperatures and uneven terrains. The 4.6 Gallon Aluminum (Rust-Free) Air Tank is Lightweight (45.5 lbs) and very easy to transport. Review: It's very quiet, but it's a beast! - I purchased this California Air compressor based on previous experience with the same brand compressor that a friend has had for nearly 8 years. He has had zero issues with his. He drains his every couple of days and blows out the intake filter periodically. That's it. We are building our own house and I'm about to start installing our tongue & groove walls and trim. This compressor is perfect for our needs as it is very quiet and light weight. Don't let it's size fool you as it's a beast and keeps up with air demand perfectly. Just a couple of tips: I mounted my compressor to a small, rolling dolly to easily maneuver from room to room. At the end of each, I hold my air tool upside-down and put a couple drops of 3 In-One oil in the inlet connector and cycle the tool a couple of times to get the oil inside the tool. Doing so helps to eliminate a lot of jams and too, it prolongs the life of the tool. This compressor has been one of my best purchases and I cannot say enough good things about. If you're on the fence about purchasing it, I would say go for it. You will not regret it.

**Q: My shop gets very cold in winter, sometimes <0 f, is that a problem?**
A: Mine does not like very cold weather. I have tripped breaker at single digit temps and regulator doesn't alow air to flow freely.

**Q: What type of coupler/fitting is standard on CAT compressors?**
A: 1/4 inch NPT

**Q: What is the air pipe out diameter? Also, what's connector counter part? Very new to this, thank you!**
A: Pipe is threaded to 1/4" NPT and you require  1/4" NPT male quick connect INDUSTRIAL or UNIVERSAL type (either one) for the female quick connects attached to the compressor

**Q: Will this run two framing nailers?**
A: Please check the CFM requirement of your framing nail guns.The CAT-4610AC produces 2.20 CFM @ 90 PSI.

I purchased this California Air compressor based on previous experience with the same brand compressor that a friend has had for nearly 8 years. He has had zero issues with his. He drains his every couple of days and blows out the intake filter periodically. That's it. We are building our own house and I'm about to start installing our tongue & groove walls and trim. This compressor is perfect for our needs as it is very quiet and light weight. Don't let it's size fool you as it's a beast and keeps up with air demand perfectly. Wow just wow. If you have ever had a run of the mill air compressor and are tired of the loud and obnoxious sound that it produces then this is the best thing you'll ever buy. I have had a 30 gallon oil-less 2.6hp craftsman and it was loud as could be, in the 95 to100db range and if you used it for any extended amount of time it was unbearable in the garage. I got a 5hp 80 gal oiled and it was better but it was still loud and the sound was much lower toned so it was more tolerable. But when i needed a smaller one and stated doing research and California Air Tools kept popping up as the one to go with due to its quietness compared to all the others. I have a friend with a porter cable 6gal for $99 and it seems to be the one that everyone buys, it is loud @85-90db but face it most compressors are and that is what is to be expected. I almost pulled the trigger until i saw this one as an amazon open box for $120 and thought id give it a try. I will tell you that i would happily pay the full price of $200 if i would have been able to hear it run before. It is as quiet as they say. You can have a conversation right next to it while talking at a normal level. The build quality is far above most compressors i the sub $300 category.
