A: It's painted, not covered in paper. It's really durable too, the paint does not chip. My niece has used it for up to 3 months and it's still the same way it was when I bought it and she plays really rough with toys, by the way.

A: It's like a magnet paint on the back, it's not hard or rough. It shouldn't. I have a textured back fridge and haven't noticed any scratches
