Review: Great Little Radios And Well Worth Every Penny. - I bought these radios on a whim, and thought they probably aren't going to be as good as advertised. I was extremely surprised and very satisfied with the way these little radios work. With each radio coming with a speaker mic, and a separate charger for each radio which makes recharging each radio a lot faster. My first test was to see how well they would work in my home. We have a 2 story home with a basement. I went into the basement and had a conversation with my daughter over the radio, and she was on the 2nd floor. The next test convinced me that I am buying the 6 piece kit. I had to fly to Mississippi to help one of my children move, and we were going to be driving 3 different vehicles, and I thought it would save on our cellphones, and all 3 of us would hear the same conversation at the same time. I thought it would be a great test to see if they would work between vehicles on the trip up. The radios worked flawlessly. We were separated a couple of miles or more due to traffic sometimes, and we never lost contact. We traveled on flat & hilly terrain, and even got into some smaller mountains. The trip took us almost 10 hours, and we never had one go down on us. The battery life was great, and the audio was crystal clear. We came upon someone else using the same channel during the trip, and with 16 pre-programmed channels available, it wasn't an issue. When we got back we had to travel another 3 hours the following day and didn't get a chance to charge any of the radios but again, they worked great. We still never lost a radio to a dead battery, and it was priceless to have them when I had to back up a trailer with a car on it inside an apartment complex parking lot. I am going to order the larger kit as I stated before. I don't know how they will work for someone traveling in the woods or on a trail but they worked great for us. The radios also come with an operators manual that is well written, and explains how to use these gems. Don't let the lower price of these radio's scare you away. They work great!

**Q: What frequency does each channel operate at. Is there a chart?**
A: These did not come with a chart.  Nor do I know the frequency...   they work well for my son and nephew’s at the hunting shack where cell service is spotty.

**Q: How do you set the Ctcss code?**

          This requires programming tools and programming cables for setting.

**Q: Can regular batteries be used as backup to the rechargeable battery pack? if so, aa or aaa?**
A: Previous answer is wrong. No AA batteries can be used, only the included lithium battery pack.

**Q: do you have any indication for voltage input of 220v?**
A: AC 220V/50Hz can be used

Bought after watching a Project Farm comparison review of these radios. They work well with exceptional range and clarity. Going to be using these for theater production communication. The earpieces are comfortable and do not lose quality in sound and will help keep communication intact without interrupting performances of the theater. This is probably the best bang for your dollar for those who want a basic walkie talkie for hunting, construction, or communication as I have stated above.
