They don't fit in the sterilizer all neat and tidy like the Avent bottles do. However, I just washed and rinsed the nursers, rings and nipples and threw them in a big pile in the sterilizer and microwaved them. I did this for 2 babies and it worked great. Ultimately it doesn't matter how the nursers and parts are situated in the sterilizer. **Q: Does this set include a bottom of the bottle?** A: There's no bottom on these bottles. What it does do is allow you to snap the top to the bottom so that you don't misplace it while feeding the baby **Q: i am looking for a bottle system in case of post-earthquake evacuation. can i use 1 bottle and just use fresh bags & nipples for 3 days, no washing?** A: As long as you're using fresh bags and nipples it shouldn't be a problem, although I would get some wipes to clean the bottle and the nipple ring atleast once a day. Either germs from hands/accidental dropping or sometimes milk/formula can pool alittle on the inside of the ring. If you're concerned about chemicals that close to your baby's food source, I know there are wipes that are made with natural subtances for on-the-go cleaning for pacifiers and teething toys (safe for baby) so you can just wipe down and let air dry for a minute. But I have used this system since my 7mos baby was born and I go through a whole day just using the same bottle but changing the nipples and bags for each feeding. No problem. **Q: Can the liners work with the Ventair bottles or do they have to be in this style of playtex bottle?** A: I have used the liners in the Ventair bottles no problem. It did seem to work better if I left the bottom off the bottle, though. The only thing I want to let other parents know is that you have to squeeze the air out of the drop in before feeding your baby. These drop ins hold about 10oz of milk, my son for instance only drinks about 7oz. After turning the top of the bottle to the angled position, I just use two fingers to gently squeeze down on the drop in from the opening on the bottom of the bottle until the milk rises to the top of the nipple, then I give it to my son. This is the best way of knowing that your baby really isn't getting any air. Also, I'm not sure if it's just me or what, but the drop ins seem like they aren't 100% clean. Just to be sure, I just give them a quick rinse under the tap water before using. This is also a good thing to do anyway to make sure there's no holes in the drop in before you actually fill it with breastmilk or expensive formula. But overall, I still really like these bottles, and I've noticed my son hasn't been spitting up as much as he normally does. Original Post: My 10-month-old son was originally using the playtex ventaire "anti-colic" bottles. He has acid reflux and was colic when he was newborn. The playtex ventaire bottles were the only bottles that didn't have him screaming with gas pains after feeding him. Now that he's 10 months and isn't colic anymore, I decided to try out these playtex nurser drop-in bottles. So far he hasn't had any issues using them. And it's great for me because I spend soo much less time washing bottles and get to spend more time playing with my son. To make sure they don't leak, you have to turn and "click" both arrows together. This package was a great deal and came with 3 bottles, all with medium flow nipples, and also came with 15 drop-in liners to start you off. The bottles can also turn into an angled position which helps with colic. The open end on the bottle also allows you to click on the bottle cover during feedings so you won't misplace it.
