Also, be careful washing them... get them too wet and the edges can peel up. **Q: i am looking for these placemats in fabric. Not interested in corkboard** A: I had to go to the actual Portmeirion to order my fabric placemats and tablecloth. However, I LOVE the corkboard ones jyst as much. **Q: what does size 16 mean?** A: The size of the placemats is 16 inches x 12 inches **Q: Strong odor to these placemats. Is this normal and what can I do about it?** A: I haven’t encountered any odor from my place mats. I only wash the top side with soapy water and dry them thoroughly.
