The AC unit is obviously high quality, and very nice. The installation was simple and not difficult at all. Additionally!!! RecPro is a VERY, VERY, good vendor. Great customer support, and they always do the right thing. I am very impressed with them. Highly recommended!! After having it installed for a couple of weeks I just wanted to follow up. This unit is far superior to the old Dometic I removed, I really wish I had done this a year or two ago. This AC unit is MUCH more quiet than the OEM AC. The controls are much improved over the old one as well. Having the heat pump function is a true game changer, as the RV stays at a very comfortable temperature throughout even when it's chilly. If you are considering this AC unit you will be very happy, it is top notch! I also have to say, RecPro is a great company to deal with. Last update: It finally got really cold here in Alabama, and I just thought to update this review once more. This AC / heat pump unit is just the best! Review: Very efficient and quiet a/c - I received this a/couple from desertcart. It was very well packaged and was not made in China but in Australia. Well built unit. the two people that I had to install this unit both were very please with its construction and ease of installation. Both said to me that when their a/c goes out they will replace this with RecPro (Houghton) ac. It is very quiet compared to my old 21 year old Dometic and I love the heat pump function compared to the old heat coil. This blows heat and cold out the front and back as my a/c sits int eh middle of the rv. I love the remote control function, the setting the temperature, the looks inside the rv as it is thinner than the old one. the efficiency is greatly improved. I am very happy with my purchase.

**Q: Am i doing something wrong? ac set to 60 but it's 76 in the camper. it either too hot or too cold.**
A: Industry standard is a 18 degree temp variance. Example of 100f outside you return air will only dump out 82F. I would verify that the compressor is actually kicking on and there is no restrictions on coils or return air.

**Q: I have a dometic ac ducted, not a split. Ther is no piece on inside. Will this work without the inside piece? Mine boys on from top.**
A: No the ceiling unit is also the remote receiver and it is needed for unit operation.  There doesn't seem to be much options for the top mount ac units.

This is a good unit. Noise level would be a concern for smaller RVs. The fan runs 24/7 being a heat pump. You can heat the compressor kick as it cycles. Others have talked about noise levels and they are correct. Noise is between 55-65fb depending on fan speed. Installation was a breeze took myself and stepson 2 hours from unboxing to start up. We pushed the unit up a ladder to get it to the roof. At 80# it’s not a big deal. BTW I’m 73 and son 41. Only gave 4 stars based on noise level. Hope this helps you on your decision.
