The average life span of standard foam surrounds is about eight to 16 years. Very pleased with this purchase! I didn't expect much in the way of performance considering the price and physical size of the speakers (4x6) but am blown away by their performance and level of workmanship. I bought these to replace the stock dash speakers in my old truck. They fit right in using the stock speaker holes and sound great.
