Do not get any finger oil where you will be adhering. using 600 grit sandpaper, lightly abrade an area of the windshield that will be hidden by the mirror trim. Do the same for the mating surface. Apply the tape (or this adhesive) per manufacturer's instructions. Do it late in the day or in a garage so it's not in a baking car. Give it a chance to cure. If possible, bend a coathanger or something to give the mirror support while it's curing. **Q: can this be used on water pump Bolt threads?** A: You bet.
