I run the lights off of a 12v battery, so I like this system as there is a connection only a yard from the switch. I installed the switch beside the LED light switch and it allows the connection to be a foot from the roof and allows me to disconnect from the battery easily when not in use. Thereby, removing any chance of slow draining the battery.

By the time you figure in the cost of the parts ( wire, switch, crimps/connectors, not to mention a relay if you are using one) to hardwire a set of lights, let alone the time to assemble, this set up is cheaper by far. harness length is ample, you get a pair of pigtails with connectors for a pair of lights, the relay, switch, fuse block and fuse, and ring terminals for power all assembled for what a switch and some wire would cost. Made everything quick, cheap, and easy.

A: A hundred different three-terminal, lighted on/off switches could do the same thing, but...effectively no, for plug-n-play. Theyre made in China for these 40 amp wire sets. If the $13 for this set is too steep to rebuy it just for the switch, try the Northpole jeep 40 amp LED harness for $9. That's more than reasonable to get an exact match switch with quick-connect plug and however many feet of wire, plus extra DT pigtails and relay.

**Q: Are each ends independently wrapped or are both wrapped in the same sheath?**
A: Your question is difficult to understand. Which ends, and which sheath? The wiring harness comes as pictured. The switch, and the two male ends on the wires and harness. The female ends come so they can be wired to whatever you are trying to power. The female ends are the ones in the picture that has the wire sheath partially stripped at the end for easy removal and installation to whatever you are trying to power. The relay is already wired, with all the wires running in to a one piece connector that holds all the wires and only plugs in one way to the relay. And the inline fuse. Can you be more specific with your question?

A: You can turn your LED light bar off and on with the switch. If you are referring to the little LED light on the switch, no you cannot.

If you have a set of LED lights that didn't come with a harness , you can't beat this for the price. El arnés es muy bien ensamblado, la protección de los cables todo está perfecto. Lo que más me gusto fue que esta muy largo lor cables y más el cable para el swich. Puedes acomodarlo en cualquier parte del carro sin problemas. Con este arnés hasta sale barato comprarlo y colocarlo, que llevarlo con un eléctrico. Y los conectores DT son muy buenos.
