I'm sure you could fabricate something similar and use the hardware, but the instructions included are really specific to the 1/8th of an inch and correct placement of hardware is crucial to assembly. It includes directions for all cuts for panels from 48"x96" sheets that maximize the total amounts of wood without waste. also that dvd is pretty step by step. When installing the pistons to frame i realized how crucial and glad i measured correctly all mounting points.
