Especially good for sliding surfaces. Review: Red and tacky - good grease - Bought this mainly for my RC diffs but ended up using it on loads of other bits as well. Really good quality grease, nice and tacky so it stays where you put it instead of flinging everywhere after a few runs. Smoothed the diff action out nicely and seems to hold up well even after plenty of use. A little goes a long way too so the tub lasts absolutely ages. I’ve also used it on bearings, hinges and a few tools in the garage with no issues at all. Definitely one of those products that’s handy to always have around. They are the same product with the same part number. They are both NLGI #2 rated grease. The only difference is the packaging. The "#2" packaging is the most recent. This information came directly from Lucas. I called them. **Q: Would this grease be a good firearm lube?** A: In my opinion, no. It would be too thick and stiff for a firearm lube. It will not migrate into the tight places like an oil lube will. **Q: Would this be good inside a transaxle on a riding mower?** A: Hmmm....once away from small bearing and small electric motors....not so sure. Transaxles are usually oil filled. If you're trying to replace the oil with grease..NO.
