TDS measures total dissolved solids, including minerals that may be healthy to be in the water. TDS measures at the parts per million level, while some contaminants in water are bad at the parts per billion or parts per trillion level, where a TDS meter will not pick up on those levels of filtration. Determine WHAT you would like filtered out, and purchase a filter based on that.
