**Q: How do you add this to soil?  I have a compacted lawn - does this need to be filled into the soil?**
A: After adding gypsum to my soil I later decided I'd created more problems.  This article will give a clear picture of what gypsum does but how it can also negatively impact your soil depending on the existing amount of salt and calcium.  www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/using-gypsum-in-garden.htm   I have no complaints about the product itself.  I just didn't have my soil analyzed first.  The article recommends using compost for lawns and using gypsum only for commercial purposes.  Good luck whatever you decide to do.

**Q: What is the calcium content of the product? I can't read Guaranteed Analysis on the side of the bag very well.**
A: This is what the Guaranteed Analysis in the back of the bag shows: Calcium Sulfate 68%, Calcium Dihydrate 86%, Calcium 20%+, Sulfur 16%+

**Q: what is difference between oyster shell and Gypsum? both are same calcium?**
A: The difference is the source, oyster shells vs. gypsum dug out of the ground.  Both are calcium and can be used the same way.

**Q: why wouldn't I use gypsum?**
A: Blossom end rot (BER) is an indication of a calcium deficiency.  If you don't have BER, then no need to use gypsum or any other source of calcium.  If you do have BER, adding a little gypsum can help solve the problem if, however, you're not over watering.  Too much water can block absorption of calcium and other nutrients, and can cause BER.
