What is up with this product?** A: You only need a single drop per color you add it to. Are you using a torch at all? Have you tried misting with (pump spray bottle) isopropyl alcohol at the end of your project? I definitely get cells every time I've used it. **Q: Will this mix with water?** A: No, it will not mix with water. **Q: Does acrylic pouring oil work in resin?** A: Yes it does. You just have to make sure to clean up your resin painting once you are finished. If you dont you can end up with what's called a silvering effect around your cells. Cornstarch and a soft brush followed by warm water and hand soap wash. Usually takes a few times to get all the residue but it makes a huge difference in the effects. I got two different results. I’ve read so many of the reviews on this product before buying it and it seemed like either it worked or it did not. I believe that this product does work, for me it was just a bit of a learning curve. It’s not just going to create cells if it’s just mixed into paint. It might but it’s definitely more about the weights of the paints and how they are mixed, applied or poured, and the type of techniques used. I’m a beginner and the first time I used it I put a drop or two into each paint cup individually. I didn’t get any cells to form with heat and I was certain it was due to this product. However, after my second time using it I knew that was definitely not the case and the silicone worked as advertised.After reading a couple of really great informative and interesting articles I found online by a guy who goes by, “The Left Brained Artist”, I ended up with dramatically different results on my second pour.I found that it was about the weight of the paints and how they were mixed and layered and applied than the silicone. I also applied the silicone differently. The first time I mixed it in each paint thoroughly but the second time I dropped 1-2 drops of the silicone in each paint cup and instead of stirring it a lot I pushed the silicone into the paint mixture maybe 2-4 times to spread it instead of mixing it. I also poured it all differently too and I didn’t even need any heat for the cells to form so quickly and beautifully. I used flood floetrol or some even Needed water to thin them out more, then some drops of silicone. I will keep trying new ways and I am just grateful for the left brained artist whoever he is!This product really works just fine for pouring projects.The 8”x8” has no cells and the 8”x10” has cells.
