Review: Updated: quite a nice pair of ear buds; exceptional customer service - Oh this is a tough one to write since it's pretty subjective. Music listened to before writing: Pink Floyd - The Final Cut (whole album) Rammstein - Mutter, Haifisch, & Rammlied Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture M.I.A. - misc. songs UPDATE: This update is a result of very good customer service. I will keep my initial review posted for reference. Shortly upon posting my initial review, I was contacted via email by a Symphonized rep named Kara. She indicated that they make a separate ear bud insert for people sharing my same experience. They sent me this "new" style insert immediately, at no cost. Upon receipt of the new inserts, I slipped them on and what a world of difference in comfort! They have 2 "cones" that I can only presume the inner cone helps isolate noise & the outer cone to better hold the bud in place to allow both noise isolation & comfort of not having to place the insert deep into the ear canal. What a delight to be able to listen to my music & move about without having to keep putting the ear bud back in place. Excellent customer service on what is now an exceptional ear bud. Thank you both Kara & Olivia of Symphonized. ************************************************************************************************************* The product stood up to it claims of good clear sound and sound isolation (don't know if it's the wood so much).. Though I found the sound stunning and robust when I turned the volume up to the point I couldn't hear a thunderstorm had started outside. I also noticed that I could really here the punch of the bass (deep but not overwhelming or distorted) if I closed off the ends of the buds with my finger tip. Maybe if they closed the ends it would be more pronounced from the get-go! My criticism comes in the form of fit & ultimately function. I've never had noise isolating buds before so maybe I wasn't expecting what I got. Though for me, I found the best sound & fit was when the buds were essentially stuffed inside my ear canal. Which in all fairness makes sense. But I didn't care for this and began to feel uncomfortable with them that far in. Secondly, I purchased these because my other ear buds (Sony MDR-ED12LP's) were starting to die and I needed a replacement under office work conditions. As I mostly wear these in one ear during work, it seemed as though the sound of the new NRG's was gone and/or the bud would fall out (continue reading). I guess you really need to have both buds in ear!!!! This clearly wasn't going to work as replacements at work so I've brought them home to use when I'm on my porch watching a movie or reading a book (with music in the background). One other thing I found distracting was not being able to open my mouth or move my head side to side much. These actions caused the "seal" to break on the isolation and that tended to let the ear bud want to slip out (most annoying while trying to enjoy a cigar and cognac). All in all, these are really nice ear buds for their purpose. To me that purpose is to insert buds and not look around or open your mouth; just sit down, shut up & listen. In that, I can honestly say they do not fail.
Review: Unbiased Detailed Review - Outlined Review: These are much, much better than I expected. (Purchased with my own money. Genuine Review.) Who are these for: Anyone looking for a low budget set of wired headphones and still wanting a full, rich sound. The Plan: While looking for low-cost wired earbud headphones for my VR headset, I was fully prepared to purchase headphones that were more expensive than these as this is the lowest I would spend. I wanted quality full sound since I wanted them to use for media, and I wanted them to take up a small footprint to go into the case I also store my VR headset inside. First Look Impressions: A). The packaging was as simple as any retail store. It opened right up out of the box easily. To my surprise, I suddenly find the small pouch included as well as the color ear tips I chose (red) when buying these and black set all in small, medium, and large. The mediums fit me perfectly even though my ears are small. They also threw in a small wire clip to secure to your clothing, a very appreciated touch since it’s a better experience with all noise reduction wired headphones if the wires are limited in movement. ***Note: As mentioned, noise reduction wired headphones commonly make noise. This isn’t a defect, it’s a sideffect of isolating out exterior noise. Any movement of the wires will cause feedback bumps, if you will, like the sound of a cotton swab in your ear. It isn’t a distraction after a minute or two, and you’ll rarely notice it. Listening: Absolutely mind blowing. I have no idea how these sound so well honestly. They don’t look like they would produce such a quality experience. But they do. And that isn’t putting down the looks. They look great, but they sound more expensive than they look, easily. I tried these with all genres of music. The genres I believe it sounds best are R&B, Pop, Country, Dance, and Ambience. The genres I believe they sound worst are Classical, Accapella, Jazz, and Rap. All others were neither good or bad, but still sounded fantastic for this price. I also tested these on gaming and movies which didn’t disappoint either. Also, I paired a Bluetooth transmitter coming from my computer to a portable Bluetooth receiver I plugged these headphones into.There was no delay in sound and they sounded just as good as if they were plugged into my computer itself. Then, I took a battery-powered DAC and plugged these into it. These headphones handeled well at low and high volumes and there was a nice, clear, crisp sound. And while turned up to max volume, there was no distortion and very little sound leakage heard while wearing. In conclusion: I didn’t purchase these because they were the best or worst. I purchased them because the older version of them had an overwhelming positive amount of reviews. And while these didn’t have many reviews at the time I got them, I took the chance, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Pros: - Sounds and looks more expensive than they cost. - Lightweight and easy to include with everyday items. - Thin slick cord makes it easy to untangle if they ever do. - In-line controls are compatible with many devices. Cons: - A nylon corded option would be nice. - I wouldn’t use the pouch while carrying in my pockets as I prefer a hard case. ... I honestly don’t think there are more cons than these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ not as pictured but good enough

These are decent, but the purple do not have an angled jack the way it is shown in the pictures. My first pair lasted a couple years before beginning to fall apart, first at the base of the jack. I have a red pair with the angled jack which are likely, in that respect, to last a little longer. Assuming that all colors now have the same angled jack, I bought another purple pair which I'll have to be careful with. It's disappointing the pictures are not accurate, but I do still really like these and they have nice sound.
