After rinsing it out..it says to wait 24hrs before washing...I wait a lot longer, however the color may show up on a cloth headband, collar, etc. It rinses out well,though. I was a bit skeptical about this product based on a few reviews and the bottle was small but surprisingly it covered all my hair and turned it dark brown with a bit of red streaking but not much - likely because I focused on the roots and covered the rest sparingly as I didn't think there would be enough. It would be nice to have a little bit bigger bottle but so far I am pleased with the results so I gave it 5 stars. It covered the grey nicely and even a friend commented how nice it looks. I love the color and it feels nice.
