It is a molded case that is sturdy but still lightweight. There is a hand strap for easy portability. The Doxie fits perfectly inside the case and there is a mesh pocket to keep the charging cable with room for an outlet adapter. The case protects the scanner well but is still small enough to slip inside a backpack or tote. I took a chance to see if this would work with my Brother DS-820W and it fit perfectly.
