A traditional chalet style scene is played out on this richlydetailed clock. Adding ambiance, at each hour, a Cardinal pops out from his roost, chirping his distinctive, beautiful song. This unique “cuckoo feature provides a sense of serenity in our busy, daily lives. The clock features a swinging pendulum which can be removed for mantel or tabletop display. At nighttime, a light sensor deactivates bird song, allowing our Cardinal friend (and you) to catch some sleep 2 x C and 1 x AA batteries required (not included).

Review: This clock makes me smile every time it chimes. It is plastic so don’t expect a quality wooden clock but it is very cute for the price. It only chimes on the hour, which is enough for me. The chime is the sound of a cardinal bird, not a cuckoo clock sound. It has a light sensor which stops the chiming once the room becomes dark, so it doesn’t wake you up at night. I have had it for a few months now and it keeps perfect time.

A: Plastic

A: No, but you could put something over the sensor to block it if you like.

**Q: how can this take 2 c and 1 aa battery? dont understand? isnt that heavy and weird?**
A: No its not at all. The 2 c's are for the bird and the double A is for the time. But its not heavy at all

**Q: Is the 12" height based on the height when used on a mantel or the hanging height with the hanging pendulum?**
A: It is about 12" sitting without the pendulum and the pendulum hangs about 3 or 4 inches

This clock makes me smile every time it chimes. It is plastic so don’t expect a quality wooden clock but it is very cute for the price. It only chimes on the hour, which is enough for me. The chime is the sound of a cardinal bird, not a cuckoo clock sound. It has a light sensor which stops the chiming once the room becomes dark, so it doesn’t wake you up at night. I have had it for a few months now and it keeps perfect time.
