Review: Great for my carpal tunnel and tendonitis - Fantastic! have high sensitivity in my tendons from past carpal tunnel and bilateral tendonitis injuries.
Review: Great product but takes getting used to, which cannot be helped - Works perfectly and easy to set up. There is a minor modifier key problem since I use it for Windows, Mac and Linux machines regularly, via KVM switch, but not a big deal. I have used a split keyboard ( Microsoft natural economic) for years but the tent configuration of the Kinesis keyboard takes getting used to. I kept missing the “n” key, but not so much now. The Kinesis doesn’t seem to strain my wrist and elbows as much, and that is the main thing. The keys feel good to use and the keyboard is stable enough that it doesn’t slide and the tent position stays up.

## Features

- AWARD-WINNING SPLIT DESIGN: Unlike fixed ergonomic keyboards, the Freestyle2 allows you to rotate and separate the key modules up to 9" to achieve natural hand, wrist and forearm positions for your specific body type and preferences.

- STANDARD MAC LAYOUT: The Freestyle2 for Mac features a standard Mac layout with hotkeys like Cut, Copy, Paste, multimedia keys, and a 2-port hub. No software or special drivers required.
- LOW-FORCE KEY SWITCHES: The Freestyle2 uses a custom membrane key switch that features a low-activation force and tactile feedback to reduce finger fatigue, impact and strain.
- WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Freestyle2 keyboard with a standard Mac Layout and the VIP3 tenting accessory and palm supports pre-installed onto the keyboard for maximum convenience, adhesive cushioned palm pads, detachable pivot tether for adjustable splay, and Quick Start Guide.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have mx cherry switches? If so, what color - brown/red/blue? Thanks**
A: Hi this does not have the MX switch.

**Q: Is this a VIP3 (with wrist pads) or a VP (without)? Please correct the name of this product.**
A: Kinesis Freestyle2 Ergonomic Keyboard KB820PB-USLeft and Right V-Lifters: the V-lifter quickly and easily alternates the slope of the keyboard from 10 to 15 degrees, positioning your forearms and wrists in a more comfortable position by reducing pronation.*Integrated, padded palm supports ensures that wrists are neutral while resting.*Use with or without the pivot/tether. Disconnect the pivot tether if greater separation is required.*Provides a highly stable typing platform with no "bounce"*Requires available USB port Compatible with PC, and Linux* systems.

**Q: Is this a wireless/bluetooth keyboard?**
A: Nope. It connects with a wire, unfortunately. It is so fabulous in every other way that I decided to put up with that. In looking around for a good split keyboard for my MacBook, I found that the best ones weren't wireless. Good luck to you.

**Q: What are the dimensions? I have a limited keyboard tray area for it, so this would be helpful to know. Thanks.**
A: It's large; haven't got a tape measure handy, but I had hoped it'd be smaller and more portable; it's at least the size of your standard desktop-computer keyboard. The actual surface area it takes up will be even more because of it's configurability (i.e. not supposed to be in a simple rectangle format).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for my carpal tunnel and tendonitis
*by M***C on 22 February 2019*

Fantastic! have high sensitivity in my tendons from past carpal tunnel and bilateral tendonitis injuries.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product but takes getting used to, which cannot be helped
*by J***N on 2 May 2026*

Works perfectly and easy to set up.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Is great but is not for me
*by P***K on 9 October 2025*

The delivery took too long and by the time it arrived I was used to another keyboard. Cons: - So many cables, in these days we’re Mac computers have everything wireless, having a keyboard with so many cables feels counter intuitive. - Too many keys. I type without looking at the keyboard and having that many keys make it hard to actually map it in your mind. - The design feels like is from the 90s, is just ugly compared to the sleek designs from the competition. - It does not feel stable when is in the highest position. - I didn’t like the sound. I don’t need no sound and for that price I wish I could choose to have quiet keys. Positives: - It has all the possible keys you may need, I think if you take the time to learn all of them then it can be a boost in productivity. - Zero configuration needed. Keys are exactly like what you expect from a Mac. That is just great. - Price is not bad for all that your getting. - is very reputable brand and you know you are not getting a weird faulty electronic.
